I mean, yes, it will be damaging to your bank balance. Although, this will not be forever. You will soon recover, and the bonus of it all, you have your equipment there. You can use it when you choose.
Each month, you do not have to have the money to pay for your membership. And, be honest, if things are a little tight one month, it will be easier not to go. And then. When things get hard again, you do not bother to go back. And before you are even aware of it, your journey to a healthier you will stop.
